Another morning rising with the scenic views of the Lake….peaceful and lovely but so different from camping in Canada. Here in Italia there are no campfires, but we have fancy washrooms, laundry facilities, cafes, pizzerias, ping pong, swimming pools and even a disco!!! This is NO Algonquin park!!! Anyway, we got back in the camper this morning and headed to Todi. After climbing the stone steps to the city centre, we came upon a wedding – fresh flowers and views to kill. The bride had a stunning dress and sky high shoes, the groom looked so handsome and the guests like models from an Italian fashion mag. WOW. The village of Todi charmed us with it’s panoramic views, cafes and an incredible duomo. Bellisimo!
After a delicious lunch of classic Umbrian dishes – tagliatelle with cinghale (wild boar…oh my!), linguine with tartufo (truffle and mushroom), fettucine carchioffi (fresh artichoke) and pecorino cheese.
We topped it off with some amazing gelato – chocolate and chocolate, caffe, fruiti di bosco(wild berries), pistachio, nonna crema (Grandmother’s cream)’, fravoli (strawberries) and limone (lemon)…..just incredible!!!!! We have made our way to Roma- staying just outside on a campground/resort. It’s starting to get pretty hot as we head south ( the weather has been just perfect so far! ),and we were happy to find this site equipped with a pool, watetslide and fabulous outdoor restaurant ( from which we write to you ). Right now we are watching a crazy variety show like many of you may have enjoyed in Mexico or the Dominican…have to remind ourselves that we are camping!!!!
Tomorrow we roam in Rome….
